No, right on cue you show up on a thread about Coach K.

Moving on, this is getting old. You don't like Bobby and think he should be fired. I hope that he can turn this around and get some good girls in and make some waves in women's tennis. You feel the same way that I feel in that respect. Agree?

Now that that is over, hopefully finally, we can get past it.

I think the thing we all agree on is that we want Aggie tennis to do well, and are excited about the success of the men, and wish that the women could match that success.

Some like Kleinecke and some do not, but it seems pretty obvious that after 25 years, we sort of know what we have in him. We have a coach who is going to always keep the team competitive but for whatever reason can't take it to the next level. I think he is a nice guy who is good in the community and he runs a clean program and has graduated a lot of really great Aggies, and that counts for a lot in my book.

You're frustrated because you want to support the team because you're an Aggie. On the other hand you know that if the team continues to do "well enough", Kleinecke will keep his job and we'll have 10 more years of being ranked mostly between 25 and 40.

I don't think there is anything wrong with being frustrated AND supporting the team. Heck thats how I have felt about Aggie football for the last 30 years!

bigfoot - I think that's overpoliticizing sports by calling it "US Dollars and Scholarships." Sounds like something you'd read on the political board.

I'm sure you "buy American" too, which is just as flawed of a thought-process.

Okay TXAggie, if you had the choice of an all foreign team or all American team, same talent level, which would you want?

Being a former college tennis player (although not scholarship), I kind of have an issue with American schools giving away US dollars and scholarships to foreign players instead of americans. Obviously, if you can't get the americans, thats a different story. But if you can, and the talent level is the same, I think you should give them to the american players. Kinda like shopping for US products to keep the money local.

You can think whatever you want. I don't really care. I personally don't there's anything wrong with wanting an all US side, or as an Argentian friend of mine would call a seperate category, an all American side. I say buy American if you want.

I'm just saying we all don't care if it happens or not. As the son of a college coach (not tennis) who started nearly a decade before I was born, and as a guy who could have been a college athlete, I don't really care. Especially at A&M with a self-funded athletic program, the money comes in because people want to watch winners. Just go find players who can win, will graduate, and represent the university well.
