It makes me sad. Incredibly talented athlete. Not sure what happened but I think Mark has a work rate type he's looking to recruit. I don't believe she's played a match in a year. I can't find anything online in terms of matches played. My assumption is that the rift between the two coaches affected her? That's complete speculation. I honestly don't know. I wish her well (but not well if we play her next year). She deserves our thanks for 2 solid years. Wish she'd put on her work boots and stick around but perhaps that bridge has been burned. The portal will be fun to watch.

I have been told that she timed her surgery purposefully to miss the season so that she could get one more year of NIL and a big bag of cash. I blame it all on NIL and the portal. At the same time I understand why she would not be included in any graphics.

This is correct.

I'd like to publicly apologize to Daria, my favorite player and the one who frustrated me the most. A switch flipped in the sweet 16 and I take back my comments about her not needing to be in the lineup lol. Obviously that was an overreaction but wow so happy for her and what she accomplished and what she did for the program for 4 years. She will most likely be in the Aggie tennis HoF.

if true this is crazy. But when student athletes are no longer loyal to schools due to the money involved, this is the stuff that happens.

Found this website for Championship Merchandise.

Can someone tell me if the team could see all the scorelines during their matches? Do they have scoreboards like we do?

I'm torn on the venue. UGA is good if you're from Georgia and it has a lot of seats and indoor courts when necessary. It's not like the courts are that nice. They are close together and there is no barrier between courts. The ball kids helped but there were still too many lets and stoppages of play. It's obviously a place our team feels comfortable playing, but I'm not sure one school getting to host every championship is fair. Especially an elite school like GA. (Feel the same way about OU constantly hosting for softball).

After a slow start at the beginning of the year, Daria became elite at the #6 line.

From March 1st through winning the NCAA tournament MVP, she lost exactly one match at #6. That was to Thea Rabman of UNC in 3 sets. Thea Rabman played #1 for UNC in the tourney last year after Reese went down and is a singles all-american.

Daria rebounded from that by beating the #6s from UGA and Auburn.

Six has been a bit of a weaker spot for us for us during even during our dominant run, but this year it was an absolute difference maker against elite teams.

Kudos to Daria.

She also gave props to the coaches and said they helped turn her into the player she is. Said she used to just mindlessly hit the ball but they taught her patience and strategy and it paid off. She's a great example of a kid that is super competitive, and incredible teammate, works hard, and refuses to give up. Remember - when Carson came back she was knocked out of the lineup (Anna - hang in there and watch how Daria responded). Seeing how Daria was such a positive teammate during the NCAA tournament was a revelation to me. Very happy that after all she's been through - the ups and downs and disappointments - she was the clincher. Couldn't have happened to a better kid.
