Marvels was originally postponed because of the SAG strike, and actors not being available to help promote it, right?

Given that strike isn't over yet, it seems logical that Marvels must somehow relate to the Loki finale, otherwise they would keep pushing it until the strike ends and actors are available for a promo tour.
Thanks and gig'em

I think they moved The Marvels because of VFX stuff.

It was supposed to release in July, but got moved before then. The SAG strike didn't start until mid July, so it was moved pre-strike.

I realize it's damn near impossible to schedule these things with this kind of intention so far out, especially considering The Marvels was originally set to release this past summer, but glancing at the schedule I just realized that The Marvels and the season two finale of Loki are both set to premiere the night of Thursday, November 9th. In fact, some of the first showings of The Marvels will be ending at almost the exact same time Loki does. Considering The Marvels is heavily rumored to have a massive surprise cameo (either in-movie or post-credits, and I have no idea who, nor do I want to know in advance), and Loki is apparently supposed to set up Deadpool 3 in some way, it's looking like the 9th could very well be an eventful night for the MCU, one that *might* have even been coordinated (though I doubt it). But one that, either way, will hopefully feel like this is all finally building toward something significant.

Ok, so in my Twitter/X feed some assh*le spoiled the (a?) big cameo for The Marvels, but if true it's so lame I don't even care.

Meh. I guess I'm at the point that I expected to be after Endgame, even though I did give everything a chance. I didn't outright hate anything other than Eternals, but nothing wowed me either.

Please dont post things resembling spoilers without the spoiler tags. Some people care about the movie.

I posted nothing "resembling spoilers." Every Marvel movie has end-credit cameos, so no surprise there. That I think the rumored end-credit cameo is lame reveals nothing either. Again, none of it is even remotely confirmed. That, and I could think Tony Stark coming back as Iron Man is lame, and you'd have no clue.

That said, I'll drop it.

Also, for the record, I'm not not looking forward to The Marvels. I don't think it'll move the needle in any real way, but it looks fun enough, to the point where I've already bought a ticket.

Is the lifting of review embargoes close to the release date generally as concerning as some people believe?

You may have already discussed it, and I apologize in advance if I missed it.

When the late embargo date was first announced, everyone of course automatically assumed the movie sucked. But then rumors started dropping that it was actually due to some pretty massive spoilers, potentially involving a cameo or two. That said, no one knows for sure, it's all conjecture, etc, and it sounds like we're going to have to wait until the night of Tuesday, November 7th to know for sure.

so was it confirmed that Cameo the band would be cameoing as themselves?

and yes, the rumour is ultra-lame and pathetic.

Hey since I"m not sure if I'm going to hang around here all that much longer, if you want to go ahead and tell me what charity you want to use for our Marvels bet, I can go ahead and pay it. I feel like most people think The Marvels has no shot in hell at getting to $585m global, and I don't want anyone thinking I'm welching on it.
TCTTS

I'm not going to make you pay, especially if you're not going to be around, but also because of the strike. I don't think it would have crossed $585M (or whatever we decided) regardless, but given that the actors can't promote it, it's going to make even less money now so we should just call it a forfeit.

When I bought my ticket a couple days ago, for the Thursday night debut at the Chinese Theater, less than ten tickets had been sold (out of 900+). Two weeks out, I've never seen so few tickets sold for opening night of a Marvel movie at the Chinese.

If you really want to give, just pick a charity and give.

I, for one, am excited to see more of Kamala Khan. Though, I don't know if I'll be able to get to the theater to watch it.

Also, I agree that Taika kind of got lost in the weeds with Thor 4 and a new director won't be the worst thing. We gotta have Roy f-cking Kent go after Thor, after all.

Again, given the circumstances, I'm not comfortable asking you to spend money, even you're offering, even if it's for charity. I already give, I'm sure you do to, so let's just call it a wash.

I'm good with all 3 of them. I'd be more excited if they hadn't **** the bed so hard with Secret Invasion and nearly ruined Nick Fury. Maybe he'll be cool again..

I know you guys think Brie Larson is the worst thing to ever grace the silver screen, but I think that scene with her in the white shirt might be worth the price of admission alone.

A few re-edited scenes with Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau exploring alternate relationships and you could make a fortune with this film.

The press releases say:

In the MCU, Dar-Benn, who is now an Accuser of the Kree Empire. This is much like Ronan's title in Captain Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy. It appears that the MCU version of Dar-Benn blames Carol for the fracturing of her planet's dominance of the galaxy. So it appears Dar-Benn's mission in The Marvels is twofold establish a new Kree Empire, and get revenge on Carol Danvers.

What Are Dar Benn's Powers in The Marvels?

As a very skilled Kree warrior, Dar Benn is an expert in armed and unarmed combat. Usually, they wield either a gun or a staff that dispels a very deadly energy beam. In images we've seen from The Marvels, it seems Dar-Benn holds the Warhammer, or "cosmi-rod," of a Kree Accuser.

She has a bangle like Kamala's

So that plot sounds pretty lame, like a 90s super hero movie "somebody from your past you've never met is coming to do something bad", but hopefully the interaction of the 3 mains will be good. The villain, in the greatest coincidence of all time, is engaged to Loki in real life.
