About to pull trigger on a V2 Ratller 50-640. Is there anything else I should consider at the under $3500 price point?

Pulsar maybe, not sure what price is now. PM SKelso here

I have a TalionXG35 and it has been great. Looking through it tonight a bit for hogs every so often.

I can get a talion xp50 pro for 2999. I just read it isn't as nice as the rattler. doesn't come with a mount though. so it is the same price as the rattler after buying the mount. around 3300.

If you can find it for a good deal or only a bit more than the Rattler, definitely consider an AGM Clarion. The 2-3x magnification is really handy compared to a single magnification.

We recently picked up a Rix Storm S6 640 after looking at Pulsar Thermion & Talion as well as AGM. Spoke with those much more experienced than I am and this unit kept coming up. Very pleased with the features and performance for the price. You can find this at Medio Creek and other places for less than $2,500 right now.

I have the Sightmark Wraith and I am happy with it. It doesnt have as many features as some others, but I like the simplicity of it.

Europtic has a sale going on now. Have several thermals down to relatively reasonable, if that is possible.

Anyone have opinions on these? I know it's Chinese but for $2k, seems like a good deal. https://gtguardhunt.com/products/clearview-x650l-thermal-monocular?variant=47876334551283

I'm not really up on thermals but son wants one of these instead of a scope because he says you can mount in front of a regular scope on a rail and have best of both worlds, day or night.

Nocpix Slim or ACE H35 is a better choice.

The Talion line is not offered in XP sensor. If you mean Thermion XP50 Pro, that's a discontinued line. Nothing wrong with them, just no longer made. They did make a limited run of them in LRF earlier this year. Dealer cost is higher than the price you quoted.

yes, I meant thermion. this is the non lrf model.

what do you think is the best 640 under 3500ish? I was close to pulling the trigger on the rattler 35/640. then I got talked into the 50/640, then someone through in the Thermion and the Nocpix.

Those are all fairly similar and a bit difficult to compare on specs. For instance, the Rattler TS50 V2 sensor has a slightly higher pixel count than the Thermion but the Thermion has a faster Fstop lens which reduces noise.

It's really going to come down to personal preferece between them.

Pulsar does have their Talion XG35 on sale for $2200 until Sunday. The Thermion and Rattler 50s are both better than this scope BUT for the difference in cost, I would suggest giving it a hard look.

What style of hunting do you plan to do the most? casual, contests, pigs, predators, etc?

What type of cover - open fields or east Texas brush?

casual hogs mainly, some predators. Open fields.

I would consider the Talian XG35. It will do fine for that and you get to keep some cash in yoir pocket.

Shoot me an email if I can help you get one on order. outdoors@kelsoarms.com
