I need a break from work so I'm going down to PI for some fishing next weekend, anybody want to share their secret/good fishing holes/spots?

under the bridge

If you have a boat, pick up a pint of shrimp and head north along the ship channel and fish that edge with a popping cork and live shrimp. The trout are pretty thick there this time of the year and don't be surprised if you catch a red also. South bay is also good if you have a boat really early in the morning fishing with topwaters for reds and snook.

If you have no boat, the long island swing bridge is always pretty fun. Just free-line a live shrimp around the piling with a treble hook and you should catch quite a few fish. Any fishing pier at night can also be pretty fun fishing under the lights.

oooh I also forgot the jetis early in the morning or in the evening. Any kind of live/dead bait (shrimp, mullet, etc.) will work great there drifted around the rocks.

The jetis is one of the better spots. If you need a guide I can give you his contact info. I spoke to him two weeks ago and he goes out everyday and has been catching a great deal of trout and reds.

Was out fishing the jettis and all I managed to catch was perch and catfish. Caught one flounder but it was a small one. Maybe next time
