Finishing up a full rebuild on my 2015 Silverado with performance parts. Lost a cylinder that ended up being a rolled cam lobe. I did it with the engine in, but definitely had some struggles because of it. I got stuck a couple of times and weather was an issue. I learned a ton but my son and I decided we're pulling the engine next time.
Last week my son showed me a video of his 2013 Silverado. Classic DOD lifter collapse. Guess who gets to start it over. Engine out this time.

The only in-frame I've ever done was a '75 Corvette. No cross-member under the oil pan so it was very easy.

2013 will be a tad cheaper and easier being a LS vs a LT. I'd recommend Tick again, Tow Max line is safe bet. I can provide some guidance again, especially if you want to go more radical.

You did a lot for my build. I have a stage 1 kit from Texas Speed because I has a 2013 also. I'm giving it to him and will save him some money. He's skipping some supporting mods and selling it. It might end up on here.

Bought a 200k mile 05 Tahoe for my 16yr nephew last month with a lifter noise. Odd because these don't have DOD.

Had a shop misdiagnose it as an oil pump. They put an oil pump on it. When that didn't work, they then took the head of the drivers side and found one damaged lifter and some damage to the cam lobe. There price for all new lifters and a cam was insane, so I had them put 2 new lifters in it and put it back together. Its quiet now but not sure for how long.

Anyone bought a crate motor off Summit? I see they have a reman LM7 for $3000 or a 'performance" 385hp LM7 for $4k

Or maybe I should do the cam and lifters myself and keep rocking. Not sure. I am in this thing for more than its worth currently. Its a very clean Tahoe otherwise

Finally got it back from the tuner! Took it a little more time because I was a tick or two out of time and no read on mass airflow. He got it tuned up and she's fun but I can't rip on her yet. He warned me I'll need a built transmission and there's some sloppy shift points (I'll have to drive it tomorrow and see what gears). Put down 404 at the wheels and 475 at the crank!
