Have had my Sequoia TRD Pro in Mudbath for a couple weeks and really love it! It's a blast to drive. Will keep y'all updated on any issues that arise.

Have seen complaints elsewhere about roof rack noise, cargo space, etc. Hasn't been an issue for me (yet).

Granted, I came from a 2015 so there are a lot of features that cars have had for years that I'm just getting into.


And, in before the "Gen 2 V8 was way better" and "Toyota is not what it used to be" crowd shows up….

Gen 2 Sequoia IS way better.

I have TWO.

I will grant that Gen 3 gets better gas mileage.

I live in CO so I bought in the Denver area. Got it for MSRP. The day I picked it up it had 6 miles on it and was at 5 mpg. It had only been driven in a parking lot. I'm up to 17.1 mpg and it keeps climbing. This is with hwy and city driving so far.

I live in CO so I bought in the Denver area. Got it for MSRP. The day I picked it up it had 6 miles on it and was at 5 mpg. It had only been driven in a parking lot. I'm up to 17.1 mpg and it keeps climbing. This is with hwy and city driving so far.

That's not better gas mileage than my eight cylinder ICE gets.

My father told me we were a GM family (primarily, a 93 and 94 suburban), and I bought two Chevrolets under this mindset.

However, I then switched our family to Toyota (2016 4Runner Limited) and now the 7 year old wants to inherit it in 11 years. I dissuaded him from Jeeps, which was rooted in Jurassic Park fandom (he has all the DVDs).

Well I did say it keeps climbing. It gives an MPG summary after each trip. Usually ~19. I'll let y'all know where it plateaus.

And it's all worth it for the new body style. The gen 2 looks too much like a beluga for me.

Switched from GM as well and it's been great so far. Plus the sequoia is built in San Antonio!

Glad you prefer the 3rd gen… and that I still have my 2nd gen. I love the body style.
