Had no clue driving a model t was this involved. Having to adjust throttle and timing and shifting with a combo of the "hand-brake" and foot pedals. I can see why many thought they might be too much for the average person to operate.

Years ago I e-befriended a young man in Iowa who restores steam tractors and scale models of anything steam. He's my kids age, but he's the oldest soul I know. I visited him and picked up a stationary engine he sold me. When Mrs.CP & I got there, he and his son tooled us around greater Lenox, IA in his Model T. I enjoyed driving it for a bit. His plan is to visit every county in Iowa in it. He puts LOTS of miles on it.

They would be a fun car to drive if you had lots of farm roads or small town space to enjoy it; where people see you a long ways off. I wouldn't think it would be enjoyable in a super fast paced environment.

More complicated than a modern car, but I imagine you got used to it fast. My tractor is an old ford with a manual clutch and 3x4 gear box and a front end loader with an add on grapple. Try doing grapple work with it. At first it is chaos, but before long it becomes a well orchestrated set of movements.

There was a reason old timers who drove both preferred the newer Model A.
