My 86-year-old father put it succinctly: "I was an infant when the Ags won a national championship so I don't remember it. At my age if they don't hurry up, they may win another one in my lifetime that I won't be able to remember!" NC all day given that choice. I'm 61 and would like one in my lifetime, too!

I'm 53 and want one in my lifetime

I just want to experience that once in my lifetime and I'll be content with anything A&M ever does after that in football

Yep. Imagine 2015-2024 being the exact same but we went 15-0 and won the title in 2016.

but you are giving up 10+ wins each season for a decade, thats over 100 wins, something we have never done before, essentially finishing in the top 10 each season with 8ish playoff appearances vs a decade of also ran never making the playoffs

10 ten-win seasons in a row with no national championship to show for it would be a cruel blow to absorb.

Already sat through a decade of mediocrity. I can do another for a natty.

I'm 70, been waiting for a National Championship since 1975.

I've had similar thoughts as waco_aggie, but I worry that in the year when all the stars align and we're rolling toward an NC, the rapture occurs the week before the championship game, and we NEVER win another one!

One that does not align with everything we have seen from Elko. So you are saying Elko and Chizik are the same?

It's kind of a silly hypothetical imo but the answer is win a title asap. The reason I say it's silly is success breeds success . Winning a title improves chances of continuing to compete for and win another.
