It was a valid question. Wasn't upset about it just wondering what it has to do with football. Nothing. All kids that are good players should get praised if they're good. Even a kid whose parents have been in the country for a five generations. I just thought it was a weird thing to point out.

Cubans are the preferred Hispanic of the GOP. Cubans for a multitude of reasons have been way more successful and assimilated better than most other Countries migrants/refugees.

Being overtly religious and from a preferred sub group within the GOP is cause enough to celebrate this Young Man

Similarly if a Butkus Award finalists was the son of Muslim refugees and "liked boys" then certain elements of the D party would probably be here celebrating the young man.
