You're probably right, but I doubt that Argentina match will sell for less than what I paid.

Yeah I think you're right. And the prices might creep closer to true crazy if Messi finally gets off the fence and declares he's gonna play.

Are we sure tickets are actually selling on stubhub for these prices, or is this wishful thinking?

I'm inclined to say the latter… because there's extremely low volume right now. And that makes sense. There's still a full ticket draw left (up to this point, we've only had the "early" and "presale" draws).

If you saw hundreds or thousands available, and their prices were clustered, you could maybe say that's how much they're going for.

I see 10 yahoos selling for Category 1, and a massive spread in prices for the exact same thing.

These guys are fishing right now.

Maybe it's different for other games but I suspect it's the same across the board right now.

Planning on waiting to see if the prices drop for games a few days out

I went for the cheapest Houston tickets I could find on Stub Hub before the announcements today. About 20 minutes after I bought them, I found out I had Netherlands vs. TBD. I'm pretty happy with that.

Be careful with StubHub cuz word on the ticket resale streets is that the only verified resale ticketing platform is the one that FIFA is creating itself. Taking 15% from the buyer and 15% from the seller.

Can you explain what you mean? The tickets on stub hub aren't legit?

Thanks for the heads up. As I understand it, since I bought them through the app, StubHub's guarantee is in place, which means that if there is a problem, I would at least get my money back. It would suck to miss the match, though.

The big problem is that for most ticket holders, there's literally nothing to transfer right now.

All I have is a receipt saying I have Cat 1 tickets. I don't have anything to transfer. So if people are listing Cat 1 on Stubhub, then they're hoping that they'll be able to transfer the tickets via the World Cup app (which doesn't even exist yet).

Furthermore, FIFA's own ticket resale platform is down for maintenance until December 14 - which tells you all you need to know about what they think about the resale marketplace right now… I.e. as I mentioned previously, with at least one more official ticket draw still remaining (and I think it's the biggest one), it's very hasty to even try to mess with resale right now

Best of luck to all who try, but I'd advise waiting until the end of the next phase of ticketing. And yeah, it's probably best to use the FIFA marketplace (when they bother to bring it back online).

That's a good point. But it should be protected by StubHub.

I've already bought the tickets so where were you when I bought them? Keeping this a secret?

I got tickets to this game in the draw, Cat 1 tickets. Now my big decision is if to go or resell them! I am probably going...I went to a game in Dallas in the 1994 WC and had a blast. I want my son to go and have the experience of a WC game in person.

Netherlands are legit fun to watch

My guess is that if you wait til a day or two before most matches in Houston, you'll be able to get significantly cheaper tickets

The Netherlands game is probably the exception to that though

I think a lot of things will get cheaper once people have physical tickets with assigned seats to sell.

I am operating under the assumption that FIFA is gonna screw normal ticket buyers and assign them the worst seats for their given category and that the good seats will go to corporate sponsors and people who paid for hospitality packages.

Now what in the wide wide world of corruption would give you that idea?

I'm saying that there are no tickets yet and what I'm hearing is that FIFA is planning to only allow ticket sellers to sell their ticket via the newly created FIFA resale platform. FIFA is saying that it is the only resale platform where the tickets are guaranteed to be legitimate.

If you've seen in previous international events (Olymipcs, EUROs, Champions Leagues', etc) there are alot of incidents of fake tickets being sold and people got scammed. Those ticket buyers couldn't get into the games and lost their money.

It's not quite that dire. FIFA initially said they would disallow all outside sales, but they changed their mind when they saw how robust the US resale platforms were.

They do still recommend that people use their official resale platform, but they have a mechanism for people to transfer tickets (and also the BS pretickets most of us have).

The real trouble is that sellers are gonna have to be savvy enough to use the FIFA system (and if it's anything like ticket sales, it's gonna be a convoluted mess).

Got tickets- priority 2- to the Portugal v Uzbekistan match June 23 in Houston. Excited to take my son to watch Ronaldo in his last WC. Prices have jumped considerably from what we paid.

FYI the next phase of ticketing starts this Thursday.

It's evidently not a lottery giving you a window to buy, but rather everyone will get to login and apply for specific matches they want to buy.

Will be interesting to see how they price some of the crappier draws…

kinda at the point where I've realized it's going to take a fortune to go to a decent game after striking out on the previous draws

Grok gives it a 85% to 95% chance that he starts in Portugal's first few matches.

I could be wrong, but I think if you applied for particular R32 matches in this next phase, you'd have a decent shot at getting them.

I think M78 in Dallas is prime to be low demand compared to other knockout games… Tuesday during the workday, matchup between 2nd place group finishers. If anyone on here wanted their best shot at a decent game in TX, that's the one you should go for.

Foreign fans of top teams are gonna buy 1st place knockout spots (then sell for profit and buy lower if their team falls).

M88 would be worth applying for too for this reason (no 1st place), though it's probably also higher demand than M78 because it's on July 3 (easier to get off work) + USMNT go there if they get 2nd.

do you have a link to a graphic spelling out all the match numbers?

And if you can temporarily afford it, you should cast a wide net and hope that one of the games you apply to hits. Worst case you win them all and pay for more tickets than you want, and then have to scalp some.

He started 9 of the 10 games (he was suspended for #10) in 2025 and was the leading scorer for Portugal in qualifying. He almost definitely be starting next summer barring a new forward suddenly becoming undroppable (would be Felix or Ramos)

Maybe somewhat unrelatedly, I am 100% anticipating several matches around the country being delayed or starting in front of sparse crowds due to technological implosions causing delays at stadium entrances

Has anyone seen what times these games will be? Will they be prime time here? Or in the early afternoon so Europe and Africa can watch? Maybe a mix of both?
Texaggie7nine

I think all the Houston group stage matches are at noon except for Saudi vs Cape Verde which is a night game. Probably cuz Europe doesn't care about that one.

Looks about the same across the board. The higher Euro drawing matches are around noon time. With less desirable or America team games later.

Anywhere from like noon to 11pm, central time, I think.

I believe I read there are 13 different start time for matches. It is going to be much more complicated than the normal 3 start times each day.

4 matches per day during the group stage except for matchday 3, so I imagine windows at 1 pm, 4 pm, 7 pm, and 10 pm (ET).
