You're probably right, but I doubt that Argentina match will sell for less than what I paid.

Are we sure tickets are actually selling on stubhub for these prices, or is this wishful thinking?
I'm inclined to say the latter… because there's extremely low volume right now. And that makes sense. There's still a full ticket draw left (up to this point, we've only had the "early" and "presale" draws).
If you saw hundreds or thousands available, and their prices were clustered, you could maybe say that's how much they're going for.
I see 10 yahoos selling for Category 1, and a massive spread in prices for the exact same thing.
These guys are fishing right now.
Maybe it's different for other games but I suspect it's the same across the board right now.

Yeah I think you're right. And the prices might creep closer to true crazy if Messi finally gets off the fence and declares he's gonna play.

I went for the cheapest Houston tickets I could find on Stub Hub before the announcements today. About 20 minutes after I bought them, I found out I had Netherlands vs. TBD. I'm pretty happy with that.

Be careful with StubHub cuz word on the ticket resale streets is that the only verified resale ticketing platform is the one that FIFA is creating itself. Taking 15% from the buyer and 15% from the seller.

I think a lot of things will get cheaper once people have physical tickets with assigned seats to sell.
I am operating under the assumption that FIFA is gonna screw normal ticket buyers and assign them the worst seats for their given category and that the good seats will go to corporate sponsors and people who paid for hospitality packages.

Can you explain what you mean? The tickets on stub hub aren't legit?

Got tickets- priority 2- to the Portugal v Uzbekistan match June 23 in Houston. Excited to take my son to watch Ronaldo in his last WC. Prices have jumped considerably from what we paid.

yall do realize he won't even start
I could be wrong, but I think if you applied for particular R32 matches in this next phase, you'd have a decent shot at getting them.zgolfz85 said:
kinda at the point where I've realized it's going to take a fortune to go to a decent game after striking out on the previous draws

I think M78 in Dallas is prime to be low demand compared to other knockout games… Tuesday during the workday, matchup between 2nd place group finishers. If anyone on here wanted their best shot at a decent game in TX, that's the one you should go for.
Foreign fans of top teams are gonna buy 1st place knockout spots (then sell for profit and buy lower if their team falls).
M88 would be worth applying for too for this reason (no 1st place), though it's probably also higher demand than M78 because it's on July 3 (easier to get off work) + USMNT go there if they get 2nd.

It's not quite that dire. FIFA initially said they would disallow all outside sales, but they changed their mind when they saw how robust the US resale platforms were.
They do still recommend that people use their official resale platform, but they have a mechanism for people to transfer tickets (and also the BS pretickets most of us have).
The real trouble is that sellers are gonna have to be savvy enough to use the FIFA system (and if it's anything like ticket sales, it's gonna be a convoluted mess).

Has anyone seen what times these games will be? Will they be prime time here? Or in the early afternoon so Europe and Africa can watch? Maybe a mix of both?
