Cohen spent an ass load of money to buy a title. When that didn't work he decided to spend an assload to buy prospects. We don't know the amount yet, but I am guessing he dropped around 60+ M in order to get Acuna, Gilbert, & Clifford.

So JV comes back at a significant discount, we keep Chas, and we traded from the position with the most potential solid players currently in our farm system?

This is awesome news. After the Greinke trade I never sweat prospects again. Chas was a nobody 20th rounder from a D2 school.

Good point and it sounds like the drunken sailor is going to keep paying a lot for JV. I like the idea of Verlander winning another World Series with the d-bag paying his salary.

It's like the reverse of David Justice in Moneyball when he tells him how much the Yankees are paying to have him play against him.

Worth it for the ERA he's putting up, with only one blown save this season. Pressley ain't gonna get it done this post-season.
