Crane said make the deal happen. Now lock up King Tuck.
might be but he gives everyone in that clubhouse moral and Boost of confidence knowing he's on their team and pitching every five daystexasaggie2015 said:
I'll just come out and say JV isn't really the leader type. He's a huge boost to the rotation, but he doesn't really stick around or spend time with the young guys. He does his own thing.
Minor league outfielder Ryan Clifford is the 2nd player going to the Mets in Verlander deal.

The #Astros are sending their best prospect to the #Mets, outfielder Logan Gilbert, as @Feinsand reported, and a fringe prospect.

Astros receive: RHP Justin Verlander.
Mets receive: OF Drew Gilbert and OF Ryan Clifford.
Deal is done.
Holy **** I cannot believe they sent them Clifford. I hate this deal now.texasaggie2015 said:
Losing Gilbert stings, but again, the organization is higher on Clifford and they're very high on Baez as well. There's lots of outfield depth. I think the fanbase overvalues Gilbert just a tad.
Don't get me wrong- the dude could turn out to be an all star. But he's far from a sure thing.
Kind of depends on what they turn into.txags11 said:
Gilbert and Clifford?? If we don't win it all this year it's a bad move

That's a steep price
Hope the Mets are covering a chunk of that contract
Exactly. Lead by example. And have your teammates literally love you.bobinator said:I think he's a leader in more of a vibes/professionalism way than actually trying to be one.texasaggie2015 said:

Yeah. The quality of this deal is something we won't know for a few years.Farmer1906 said:Kind of depends on what they turn into.txags11 said:

The Astros were very reticent to part with Ryan Clifford, and it's easy to see why: He's already raking at High-A after going to them in the 11th round last year. Just turned 20 within the last two weeks. A number of evaluators see him as a superior prospect to Drew Gilbert.

STFU. Alvarez, Tucker, and Chaz would like a word with youtxags11 said:
