I'm possibly taking my high school team here for a tournament in October. Website it kinda weak, what kind of shape is it generally in?

I'm a member at WF and course is usually in good shape. Just punched the greens on Monday and should be great by October. Got a few quirky holes but fun course. The Katy Taylor kids will be hard to beat out there.

Any specific questions?

Just wanted to make sure it wasn't a "patchy" municipal type course with mediocre greens.

As long as the fairways are fairly nice and greens roll true.

Just hate driving 1-1.5 hrs to a crappy conditioned course.

Fairways tight or generous?

I've only played it once and that was 20 years ago. I remember it being a sub-division golf course that is in pretty decent condition.

Fairly tight in places, but not Falcon Point tight or anything. From what I remember most holes have either houses on both sides (set fairly far back), or houses on one side and a bayou on the other.

We had a junior league match there last month. Like just about every golf course with all the rain this year it was in good shape. I believe it's a private course based on what their families said. Seemed a little chincy as it's the only club we've played that has charged families for carts the last 2 years. Seemed like a club that probably saw it's hay day in the 80s or 90s and has fallen off a bit since then (and hasn't seen much of a refresh since).

Houses on one side on about half of the front nine. Bayou or marsh on the rest with a gater or 2 hanging out. Couldn't tell you about the back nine.

It's a typical neighborhood-oriented golf club built around 1990 with heavy member play. Private, but not member-owned and corporate ownership provides just enough to make it worth what you pay. A notch above public courses. The greens are well maintained and roll true. Fairway grass can be thin in some areas with rough inconsistent, from hard pan to grass covering your shoes. Very playable. Don't expect perfection.

Any possibility you could have me out within the next week and a half so that I could scout out the course?

Let me check my classroom calendar tomorrow. But for sure Saturday is best. I'd say Sat > Sun > Thur > Fri

Sat > Sun > Thur > Fri is still the best for me. If Thur/Fri preferably during the morning~

Thanks for the invite out yesterday! I was actually thinking it was going to be more scrappy. It was in pretty good condition! Dry like most of TX right now, but the greens (super important to me) were soft, receptive, and rolled pretty true. The OB/Houses on the right were pretty far off of the fairway so I'm glad to be able to report that to my team before Monday's tournament. A lot of character, I can look back and envision most of them.
