Howdy. Husband is set to retire after 27 years being an AMT in USCG. He is considering post-retirement work and I was hoping to get ideas and suggestions from anyone who's been there.
He's an AMTC but wants nothing to do with helicopters when he's out. He's unsure if he wants to be responsible for anyone's health or life. Also unsure if he wants to do full-time or part-time, be a boss or have limited responsibility, and more. He's somewhat of a social butterfly but he can focus on work. He's had lots of leadership and training experience, some special assignments, etc. We live in League City and are wanting to stay in Montgomery, Harris, or Galveston County when he retires.
That said, any suggestions of what he might want to look into for a post-retirement career. Something other than working at Lowe's. (No offense to Lowe's but he'll blow all of his paycheck and more with the free time he'll have LOL).
Let me know if there's any other info that might be good to help make suggestions.
