I use this quite a bit and freeze it down when fresh basil and oregano are at their peak in my garden. Got a better one?

That recipe will work. If you're going to can it for long-term storage, I'd just use tomatoes, salt, and citric acid to up the acidity. Then you can use it for anything else.

Yes that's the standard. I vary a little in that I finely mince my garlic, tear my basil, and don't add water, but, that's splitting hairs. That recipe is also why I don't understand why there is a 12' section of jarred crap at every grocery store. This couldn't be easier and beats anything on a shelf

We made this recipe a couple of weeks ago to top a pizza with and were so blown away by how easy it is, and how great the taste is. It's so good we made another batch tonight. Thanks for the lead on a basic recipe. We plan to make it many more times in the future.

With the wealth of information available online, anyone buying over-sweetened crap from the store is doing it because they want to.

On the subject of marinara, wife of Rattler's bicycle riding group had a Christmas party last Sunday evening. Someone brought meatballs in a marina sauce that were really good. Someone brought a pecan pie which was really good. I got a piece of the pecan pie on the same plate as the meatballs and marinara. Some of the marinara got mixed up with the pecan pie. Pecan pie with marinara sauce is really really good.......

Know what else is really good? Poached eggs and marinara.

Bring a skillet of marinara to a simmer. Carefully crack 5 or 6 eggs, separate, into the marinara and cover until eggs are cooked. Serve over toast. So good
