Do you guys find any appeal to a beer that has the following characteristics?

Drinks like and smells like a beer.
Carb Free and 4% ABV like a seltzer.
80 calories and 0 Carbs.

If it tasted good - absolutely.

The bar for tasting good isn't high. I drink a lot of Coors Light and Lone Star.

Those beers are both delicious.

Don't get me wrong, I love em. I just wanted to make the point I am not a beer snob.

A home brewer I know found a way to make her from asparagus. I never got to taste it. He did it only because he had some health issues and the doctor thought he might have been celiac. He says it was surprisingly good for what it was.

Interesting. Bud Light Next? Really curious how that will work.

Yea curious on what the consumers would think of new style of beer coming out and if it gains traction.

I just assumed Coors light and similar were functionally seltzers. There's nothing wrong with that but they taste about like the la Croix version of beer.

if it tastes like beer (would guess light beers like bud/coors light)

& has low cal, low/zero carb

then what is not to like

Lots of reasons. I'm sure Coors light doesn't heavily advertise that it's only 102 calories based on market research...

Bought an 18 of Miller 64 today. One of the better tasting super light beers. Yuengling flight is also good.

Pearl light is my absolute favorite light light beer but almost impossible to find around my parts.

If I'm worried about carbs and calories, but want something beer-ish, I'll drink an Athletic Brewing or similar NA beer. If I want to get trashed but not drink carbs, I'll drink WT101.
In other words, the described does not appeal to me, personally.

Beer derives alcohol and flavor/aroma all from grains.

Seltzer is nothing like that, it's fermented sugar + flavoring, if that.

Right. And Coors light tastes like la Croix has a "beer" flavor. It's very light and refreshing but light on flavor.

correct, but it's not 'functionally a seltzer', because it's nothing like a seltzer. it's a beer, hence the 'beer flavor' (which is quite debatable lol)
