Grandma moved into an assisted living place in 2012. She has always been very good to me and was a major source of inspiration to my subsequent (to 2012) kitchen and cooking revelations.

She is still very independent at 94 but is slowing down some. Her arrangement is a two bedroom apartment with a small but full kitchen and the facility provides lunch in or from (your choice) their cafeteria 6 days a week. She is on her own for the rest of her food.

The cafeteria has undergone some contract turnover and their food is on the downslope.

I want to bolster her ability to eat well from where I am. I'm in DFW and she is outside of Jackson, MS. I have some ideas but want to see what the hive mind thinks about it.

What can I home cook and ship?
What is the best way to prep for service what you recommend I ship?
What is the best low cost way to ship regular cold packages?
What is the best FAST cold shipping between our locations for occasional specialty stuff?

TIA
