I think that description sums it up well, and I don't want Keurig for my coffee and don't want premixed cocktails at home. Making coffee and cocktails is just too easy to do from scratch where you can control all the taste variables but I can see the appeal if you just want an easy button.I would be interested to try it to test this hypothesis

In the ingredients of the drink mixes, how much is sugar or sugar alternatives?

These are the ingredients for the gin martini so I'm probably out on this

Water, Sugar,
Natural Flavors, Citric
Acid. Preserved with
Potassium Sorbate.


A gin martini is my favorite drink and so easy

2 ounces gin
Enough vermouth to coast the glass
Green olive

Glad it works for you and looks cool.

Personally, probably 75% of the fun of cocktails at home is actually making them so I wouldn't get one of these… but that's just me.

It's not designed, obviously, for two/three ingredient things like a martini or g/t or whatever.

But for more complicated drinks, or at a party where making them quickly is optimal, it's great.

There's been a thread on this thing (or something similar) before. It definitely didn't go well for the OP.

If you like it, great. However, the overall feedback was a "no thanks" from the board.

I looked and didn't see one, but thanks for the advice. Just the limited replies here confirms what you said. And being a TexAgs veteran I shouldn't have expected otherwise.

If someone would give me one as a gift, I certainly would try it out. The cost to buy one is pretty steep though.

Based on your comments, you must like the cocktails it puts out? Which ones have you tried?

We've done a couple of old fashioneds, a margarita, a hurricane, and a cosmopolitan. All of them have been some of the best we've had.

We're hosting NYE this year so we're definitely ordering a bunch more.

Other than the hurricane (which I would make in a pitcher) none of those have more than 2 non alcoholic ingredients,

I could see it being novel for a party, where you want to have cocktails but not be a cocktail party. I loved the idea when I saw it but I think I am just too snotty to enjoy it. I wonder if the hangover it better or worse with the added ingredients

To each their own. I would never want/ buy/ use one. But you're talking to a guy with 10 different bitters, several of which I made myself. Making cocktails brings me joy. Don't kill my joy.

And until recently I didn't even KNOW there were that many kinds of bitters.

I did make my own pecan simple syrup, though.

Interesting. I understand the skepticism for using mixers in place of fresh juice in citrus based cocktails like a margarita. At some point we've all tried the store-bought margarita mix (or sour mix to make a whiskey sour) and been disappointed with the result.

How did the party go? I could see getting something like this if I hosted parties regularly. My wife likes to make old fashions, and otherwise I usually drink whisky neat or with a cube of ice. Occasionally I like to slosh together a gin and tonic or bourbon and Coke. But at a party where people might want a variety of drinks, this might be a fine alternative.

It was quite the hit, esp mong the younger types. They cleaned me out of my whiskey and old-fashion pods.
