We finally reached the tipping point on the price of restaurant chicken wings. We wanted wings tonight and when we went to order them from Wings and More we just couldn't - 50 wings are $86. BW3 was $68 for 50 wings. We decided to try frozen wings from the grocery store. They worked out well. We did one batch in the oven and another in the air fryer. The air fryer was obviously better. But the oven was not bad.
Our main complaint is that the wings were extremely salty. I melted some butter and tossed the wings in the sauce to try to take off some of the Satinas. It helped a little bit. My husband did a little bit of research and it seems this is a common complaint. Do you have a favorite brand of wings When you are in a hurry and/or just don't want to take the time to make them from scratch?
I might add that I bought two different brands. One came with an a sauce packet and the other didn't. The brand that came without sauce did not work as well. You can tell that they fried them and toss them in sauce and then froze them. Those wings did not cook up as well as the ones that needed the sauce packet. So I think the best wings will probably come without the sauce on them already.
