About once a year, I decide to give Whataburger another try, and every year they disapoint me even more. They've been awful since before the pandemic and are somehow still going downhill.

I don't think they've changed that much. Better burger chains have hit the market and others have stepped it up (Sonic Smasher for example) so relative to others they seem worse. Whataburger keeps trying to get cute with toppings instead of going back to the basics and figuring out how to make a good burger. If a place can make a plain and dry cheeseburger taste good, that's the starting point for a great burger.

It's really dependent on what Whataburger store you go to. Some are great, others are terrible. The Chicago buyout did change it, but it's still not bad when you get a good store.

That buyout is probably one of the greatest in the history of the food business. Big number, but don't think people realize the upside for expansion. They will 5-10X their money. But, with that comes cost cutting too.

Jack would get a lot more of my money if they sold their ranch in stores. As it is I visit about once a year when I crave their ranch. I'd gladly replace the chick-fil-a ranch that is a fridge staple.

Howdy, here in itty bitty Rockport we don't know Jack, seriously have not seen a J I B in years. However, we do have a Whataburger. Only 30 miles North of where it all started for Whatabuger, it ain't what it used be. Gotta go with Fido and others, the Sonic Smasher is better. The What's here just cannot seem to get it together, multiple reasons, however, they are still covered up in Business, so someone thinks they are doing it right.
