I am in the market for an outdoor pizza oven and am interested in anyone's experience with a particular model. Would prefer both wood and gas options. The Ooni Karu 2 seems like it might be the way to go, but wondering if 12" is too small.

We have a wood burning one from Fontana Forni. Second one. Both were awesome and their customer service is second to none.

Been comparing Ooni and Solo Stove. Think I'm going to pull the trigger on the solo stove during this current sale.

My 4 year old weirdly has a pizza oven at the top of his Christmas list so two birds with one stone.

Those are steep! Thinking I need to make sure I use it before I drop 2k+ on one. But dang, they look nice

Heads up! I was just looking around and dicks has the koda 2 max marked down from $1200 to $399. No idea why, cheapest I saw anywhere else was $1,039.

So I just pulled the trigger on that. Gas only, but I'll live.

They are steep but they are tanks. We use it for seering off dishes as often as we use it for pizza. Good fire gets it well above 1200 degrees. We got a new one after the Dallas tornado in 2019 (upgraded to a bigger model). The old one remained in place (one of few things that did) and a buddy still has it and uses. Only damage was a bent smoke stack which wears easy to pound out.

I have a Gozney Arc XL, love it.

I have a Bertello. It's the 12" which is a little narrow, but works well. Uses gas or wood, or both together.
I see they now have a 16" with a rotating stone. I have to watch closely and keep turning the pizza, or else one side can char while the other side barely cooks
Ooni seems to be the more popular brand of the more budget friendly options.

Recommend getting the largest one you can. Better for pizza manipulation during the cook.

I have an ooni 12 and would have liked a larger one.

I also have a forno bravo WFO and the larger opening is great.

If you're wanting something with a bigger opening to make larger pizzas, you might want to consider building your own in the backyard. There is a video on there explaining how to do that, too.

I was just checking the status and realized Dick's cancelled my order. Looks like they are back at full price now. Did yours get delivered?

I did in store pickup. But it did not get canceled, I picked it up last week. I think most that ordered w/ shipping had theirs canceled.
