On Monday, Callie Garner took us Around Aggieland as women’s tennis finished as the national runner-up, softball fell in a heartbreaking NCAA regional finale, baseball closed out the regular season and track & field earned top-four team finishes at the SEC Championships.

Women’s Tennis
The No. 2 Texas A&M women’s tennis team concluded another historic season as national runner-up, falling to top-ranked Georgia, 4-0, in Sunday’s NCAA Championship final at Baylor’s Hurd Tennis Center.

Despite the loss, the Aggies cemented their status as one of the nation’s elite programs, making back-to-back appearances in the national title match for the first time in school history. A&M is also the only team in the nation to reach each of the last four NCAA quarterfinals and six straight Sweet Sixteens.

Georgia secured the doubles point and carried that momentum into singles play, highlighted by a top-court win from No. 2 Dasha Vidmanova over A&M’s Mary Stoiana in straight sets. The Bulldogs clinched the championship with a three-set win on Court 6.

Mia Kupres went undefeated during the NCAA Tournament and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Softball
A dramatic night at Davis Diamond ended in heartbreak for the top-seeded Texas A&M softball team, which was eliminated by Liberty in Sunday’s NCAA Regional final.

Facing elimination in Game 1, the Aggies rallied from a 6-0 deficit to win 14-11 and force a winner-take-all matchup. KK Dement, Mya Perez and Mac Barbara each homered, while Sydney Lessentine came on late to close out the win.

In Game 2, A&M jumped out to a 3-0 lead behind another home run from Dement, but Liberty responded with a five-run sixth inning, fueled by a pair of long balls, to take the lead. The Aggies pulled within one on a solo homer by Allie Enright and an RBI infield single from Koko Wooley, but with the winning run on base in the seventh, Liberty struck out the final Aggie batter to seal a 6-5 win and end A&M’s season.

The Aggies concluded the year with a 48-11 record.

Baseball
The Texas A&M baseball team dropped its regular-season finale to No. 10 Georgia, 7-5, on Saturday at Foley Field, losing the weekend series.

The highlight of the series came Friday night, when Justin Lamkin tossed his first career complete game shutout in a 6-0 win to even the series.

A&M finished the regular season 28-25 overall and 11-19 in SEC play. The Aggies will open SEC Tournament play Tuesday night in Hoover, Alabama, against Mississippi State — a team they did not face during the regular season.

Track & Field
Texas A&M track & field posted top-four finishes on both the men’s and women’s sides at the SEC Championships this weekend at Shively Track & Field Stadium.

The Aggie women took second place with 81.5 points, while the men earned fourth with 77 points. On the final day of competition, A&M added 10 more medals, bringing its total to 15 over the three-day event, including three gold, five silver and seven bronze.

The Aggies will now return to Aggieland to host the NCAA West First Round next weekend.

Men’s Golf
The No. 12 Texas A&M men’s golf team earned a bid to the NCAA Championship with a runner-up finish at the Auburn Regional.

The Aggies advanced to the national championship for the fourth consecutive year and the sixth time in the last seven postseasons.

Texas A&M will compete at the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship, scheduled for May 23–28 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
