What's the scoop on the team this year?

What happened to all the freshman we got last year...4 left (Tarnasky, Ocvirk, Donato, and Williams)?

should be a big improvement over last year. the new freshmen are good. my guess on the lineup is:

pollock
makowski
spencer or krajicek
krajicek or spencer
chirico or bain
bain or chirico

as for last year's freshmen:

tarnasky transferred to arkansas
donato transferred to north carolina
williams went back to south africa to go to school
ocvirk won 3 doubles futures in a row over in europe this summer, then decided he was done with tennis, so he is going to school in slovenia

Why did Donato and Tarnasky transfer?

playing time was the primary reason, IMO.

my guess is that both guys will play doubles at their new schools, and possibly low in their singles lineups.

I keep if fairly regular contact with both Clay and Tyler. Clay has been playing well, and he and his partner won the Duke Invitational last weekend. Tyler and the Razorbacks open with Fresno State this weekend. I suspect he will play doubles, but not sure about singles. Both seem to have adjusted well to the transfer, but both miss their teammates and friends back in Aggieland.

Phat boy better step up this season...this isn't Corpus.

This years team is STACKED.

Just got back from watching them play Clemson and they are pretty legit.

Jerry Makowski
Wil Spencer (absolute STUD freshman, came in #2 in the nation in this recruiting class)
Chris Chirico
Austin Krajicek (another STUD freshman, came in #7 in the nation in this recruiting class)

If this group stays healthy, we may really have something going on. The three new guys can really play. Obviously we need to figure out doubles, but I think that will come. I can't remember the time we had three new players in one year that not only can play, but will excell. This could end up a special group.

One GAME in 3 years? thats really impressive. One MATCH would be more realistic though...

As for Bain losing only once at the #6 spot, youre wrong on that. He has lost 6 matches at that spot in the last 3 years. Do your research next time.


All things aside, we would all rather see Matt Bain out there in a tight match than anyone else on the team. You know he has the heart to pull it out in the clutch, or he will kill himself trying. We will hopefully stay healthy this year and get some big wins. Should be fun to watch.

damn sorry bigfoot, thanks for the corrections! I always tried to go to the matches the last couple years but that Clemson one was really exciting. This team looks sharp, should be a great season!

I just dont want to look too much into it, as I have in the past. You always think its the year, and that we may have a chance to beat the Baylors and UCLAs of the world, and then we are let down at the end.

Hopefully this year we can put it all together, and get the Denton haters out of here too.

Either the longest tiebreaker ever, or the computer guy decided to take a break and stop updating the scores.

apparently the net strap broke during the breaker and caused the delay.

the schedule is brutal this year, so every win is big.

They still haven't updated the live scoring, but it's good to hear we pulled it out.

When is the athletic department going to step up and add live video of tennis matches to the live sport menu on Aggie All-Access? Are there not cameras on all the courts?
