I remember when the A&M soccer team was a bunch of short quick players. The Aggies were quicker than the opposition, but struggled against the big and physical teams.

Over the past few recruiting classes, we seem to be getting taller. In this class I see that Benningfield is 5'8", DeWoody is 5'9", and Spisak is 6'2"!!!! Those players alongside Jessica Martin, Adrienne Dillard, Heather Ragsdale, Kristen Strutz, Emma Smith and Amanda Burke (who are all 5'9" or taller) should make for a team that's now among the tallest in the nation.

Coach G has commented that he's changed the focus of A&M's recruiting by going after taller players to deal with big/physical teams like Nebraska, North Carolina, and Penn State. The 2002 Aggies should finally be able to look down on some of those teams.

G. likes to bring in speed, and I'll bet this class is no exception. The Aggies could use a couple of more physical players, but they seem to be making their speed game work. I am glad to see they have a taller goal keeper. This looks like another outstanding class.

Janelle Green is Jacob Green's daughter. And, did you see that Spisiak(sp?) is her high school football team's kicker? Cool..way to go, G.!

Hey CorpusGirl, You posted back in early January that Esther Thompson had left TAMU....I still hope you are mistaken, but it sure looks like you are correct...This opinion is based on Coach G signing 2 GKs...WHAT an exciting opportunity for the 2 new Aggie GKs to come into a top 10 soccer program and compete for a position that is completely open!...And I still wonder who will be our GK during the Spring Season?....And if anyone knows when the Aggies begin the Spring Season, please post this information! Thank you in advance.

Thompson has gone home to NC. I haven't heard why she left. Yesterday's signing of a 6'2" goalie might explain why.

I have not seen anything about a spring season.

Kate Ripple's sister is a SUPERB/WORLD CLASS swimmer for the Stanford Cardinal. It looks like athletic genes (and brains) run in the family. Looks like G has done it again!
