Sports Authority has both sets of Irons on clearance for $300 off. This would be my first set of new, nice clubs. Which do ya'll recommend??

you need to give a bit more information about the clubs. taylor made and cleveland don't tell us much. what version are they?

With no information on the model of club they are, I would say that TaylorMade is known for their clubs while Cleveland is known for making the best wedges. Take it for what it is worth, but I would go for the TaylorMade irons.

I would also go with the Taylormade irons, they are forgiving.

General rule of thumb though might not apply here and all situations:
For the most part Taylor Made irons generally lead toward the player improvement variety while Clevelend Irons will be better suited if you already cary a lower handicap.
