this might be old news, but bob costas just reported that in addition to protesting the now infamous "crosstracking" ruling in which Ohno was awarded gold, the south koreans are now considering SUING the judge of the event (an australian!) in a U.S. court. they may also decide to boycott the summer games in Athens.

this is so freaking petty! they have a legit gripe on the call, IMO. it was a controversial call. but a BOYCOTT of the SUMMER olympics!!?? does anyone else think thats a *little* extreme? i mean we boycotted the ussr olympics...but for political reasons...not b/c we disagreed with some judges ruling at some OTHER olympic event. that just sounds so WHINEY to me. call out the PC police, but that sounds like serious sour grapes.

It's not "extreme" when it's just a PR move. They're pissed and hoping for a second gold to be awarded (see Canada's precedent).

This has turned out to the the "Whinelympics" Russia is now joining the chorus. It may not be much longer before an Olympic Games is an impossibility. Political divisions are heating up and it appears that all is not "doves and lambs" after the end of the Cold War a decade ago.
