What is with the back-to-back games in the NHL? I was baffled with it in the first round against Anaheim. I know it's tough on the players in the NBA, but I would imagine it's even harder in hockey.

Has this been commonplace and did I just miss it in the past or is this a relatively new development.

(I'll admit to falling out of touch with the Stars after I moved away, started working, and the NHL got booted from the major networks so this is probably the first time since 2000 or 2001 when I've seen 3-4 Stars games in a season.)

They scheduled the back to back because they were expecting Game 6 of the Mavs to be at the AAC tomorrow night. oops.

I usually don't have a problem with back to backs because I hate waiting for the next game. The one in the Anaheim series was ridiculous, though, because it was back to back in different cities. That's just stupid.
