What is going on with "The Tradition", the supposed new home of the Aggie golf team. Sounds like it's bogged down in politics. Today I read in the Dallas Morning News that Tech is building a $15 million golf course, practice facilty, clubhouse, etc., that is scheduled to open early next year.
Why does everything & anything of importance to Aggie athletics (see South end zone project, etc.,) seem to take FOREVER. What can we do as fans to get "the Tradition" moving?

Good question. I posted something from the Eagle about Traditions a several weeks ago. The article didn't make a lot of sense to me but it talked about city of Bryan wanting to do another "feasibility" study for one reason or another and that the people at Traditions were trying to hold Bryan to it's commitment. I seem to remember that the group building the hotel sold their interest to another company and this made Bryan nervous about the whole deal. After posting the article several people felt like what was really happening was Don Adam, who is building a course on the other side of Bryan, was using his pull on the Bryan council to try and shoot down (or delay) the project. I have no idea if this is true or not.

What I believe from the article and the posts is that the project will go forward, just not as fast as we'd like.

When the Traditions push started the 12TH Man Assoc. mailed info to members...and ballyhooed the deal like the 2nd coming...They had a link on their web-site for those interested. Nothing wrong with any of this...but now I see no link and it seems they have just walked away without informing the members whats happening. Maybe they have and I just missed it....Anyone know?

A link to the Traditions is still up on the TAMU Mens Golf web-site. It has the building schedule ....but I think its wrong... so much so that it probably shouldn't be linked to TAMU Athletics.

A friend of mine called their offices last week and said the golf course would be built. After the hotel was sold, the City of Bryan used that as an excuse to nix the deal. The political angle is probably the best guess. It looks like we will have the course, plus the other things for the golf team. Whether or not there is a hotel is up in the air.
