I hate the redwings

It was a combination of things. I think they were tired and a little mentally off after that game Sunday/Monday. They committed a lot of reaching, stick fouls which put the Wings on the powerplay and you can't beat them if you're always killing penalties. Their PP is too good. Yes, Marty gave up 4 but I don't think there was much he could do about any of them. He needs help from his mates if they're going to get back in this.

Biggest problem:

Wings have players that can handle the puck AND check...the Stars have players that can handle the puck OR check.

How many times did the Wingers maneuver through the Stars D, get a shot and then finish a check in the same shift...a TON!

stars looked flat and got beat to every puck. we also let the wings pull off a ton of screens in front of net.

p.s. did it look like even strength to anyone else when the stars went on a pp? and hagman has to make that 1-1 shot for us to win.

I hate the Redwings too.

Hopefully the Flyers will show up tonight!

atm: that's just it. you can't let them get speed through the neutral zone and gain the offensive zone in control of the puck. You have to stand up at the blue line or even center ice and force them to dump the puck in and then need good outlet passes from your D or from Marty. But even doing that is dangerous because if you're not alert the d will get split just like Filpila did on his goal.

by the way, that call to give them a 5 on 3 early was nothing more than a ref saying "I have control of this series and won't let it get out of hand". Which is fine if the series is getting out of hand, but that's in the first 5 minutes.

Swallow your whistle or blow it...but once you swallow no regurgitting allowed!

If it stays being called tight the Stars, if smart, can take advantage of it...just like they did with the larger, stronger Sharks.
