So me and my roommate have recently started playing tennis quite a bit. When we started playing we got $15 racquet at Academy because we didn't want to do any heavy investing if we just give up on it. Well we have been playing quite a bit lately and want to upgrade to some decent racquets.

Anyone have any suggestions on some good ones we could look at? I know nothing about this stuff so i'm hoping someone on here could help out! Thanks.

i personally like the Head Liquidmetal series racquets. a good one that a lot of high school kids use these days is the Radical. i think it's a decent racquet. used to retail for about $200 a couple years ago, but now you can find it for about $70

very personal. Demo several rackets until you find what you like and what suits your skill level/game. Prince rackets are very playable.

it's dependent on the player. don't go buy a super expensive raquet, just because it's super-expensive so it must be good. i played 4 years of varsity tennis in highschool on a racquet that cost me about $60. it was a wilson "nemesis".

also, most people like the super lightweight racquets. didn't work for me. i liked a little heavier one. and i needed one that was pretty durable, since i was known to swing the racquet into the fence when i got p\ssed off.

go to a tennis club an demo quite a few of them. Find the one that you like the most. Dont buy one based on how cheap or expensive it is. FWIW, the more expensive rackets usually arent the best.

Also, try and stay away from the metal rackets. You will find better rackets in the graphite/kevlar composition.

Basically, go try some out. Dont just go out and buy one, unless you want to buy another one in under a year
