Right now we seem to be way ahead in womens and 3rd in mens. Phiri has not had a great day as far as I can tell.

Been watching some of it but of course they only show 1 out of 3 events going on live.

I'm following track, but it's harder than following any of the other sports. As a result, I'm relying on people that know track to help me. HELP!!!!

Phiri got 8th in the 100 and 200.
That is the most unbelievable thing I have seen in a while. WHAT HAPPENED

OK - I'm guessing the "WHAT HAPPENED" comment was not a good thing. Remember people, I'm relying on you to help interpret. Thanks.

First off congratulations to both the Men's and Women's teams.

As far as the Women's team goes I think we are looking great for the NCAA's. After looking at the results it didn't seem like anyone really dissappointed, but I haven't looked at the results extensively.

On the Men's side things went pretty good, but there were a couple of hiccups that may hurt us a little bit. Justin Oliver's DQ may have lost us a couple of points and Gerald Phiri's questionable 100 and 200 times may not qualify him for the Championships (that's probaby what will hurt us most). Other than that great job, especially on the mile relay. I hope we can catch Baylor at the Championships.

Good luck to both teams.

Phiri? I do not know what happened to him, but he did not qualify for nationals, that is going to hurt

Phiri was tender and everybody was worried about him pulling or tearing something. Typically he would have scratched, but that would have made him ineligible for an at-large selection to the National Championship meet. By running, finishing in 8th, he is most likely going to get an at-large selection to run the 100 and 200 at regionals.

Phiri is the most solid on the men's squad from the little that I have seen this year.

If he can get an at large bid I think he will do great this year. Otherwise he is young and should be as good or better next year.

I feel the worst for him if he does not get selected after how well he has done and how hard he has worked.

he will be in both the 1 and 2.
no doubt, his 100m time is in the top 10 in the nation and no doubt most of them qualified by coming 1st through 5th.

same probably goes in the 200.

NCAA women can win and must grab the opportunity. As for the men they can better be in the top 10 and should be able to go top 5 with a better than average showing and if everything goes perfect top 3.

Are those expectations fair enough?
