Thanks Washburn. That's good info. Glad to see a healthy number of at large qualifiers in both groups!

A few observations I made while making the list:

1.) Our sprints coach is getting some ridiculous talent on both the men's and women's side.

2.) Our jumpers are outstanding, again, on both the men's and women's side.

3.) If our women's team does what they're expected to do and we have a couple people have career days I have no doubt that we can win the National Championship.

Here's how many points the women would have if they finished in the order of their current rankings.

60 Pts

Interesting Fact - The last three years of competition 60 pts would've won a National Championship

2007 - Arizona State - 60 pts
2006 - Auburn - 57 pts
2005 - Texas - 55 pts

Did the teams get all the at-large qualifiers that they were hoping to get into Nationals?

I decided to answer this from a previous post of Washburn's. Everyone that Washburn said that had a chance for an at-large invite did get in except for McNab in the 3000M steeple chase and Stafford in the 100M. For the women, they all got in including Andeoti who wasn't listed in the 100M & 200M.

Everyone that could have an affect on points made it to Nationals except for Justin Oliver (DQ in the 400 Prelims)

On the Women's side we actually got a couple of suprises like Elizabeth Adeoti in the 100 and 200.

On the Men's side I thought Kevin McNab would get in with a good time in the 3000M Steeplchase. He actually had a faster time than a couple of the Automatic Qualifiers, but they didn't take enough runners for his event.

The same thing kind of happened with Dominique Stafford, one of our 100M guys. He ran a 10.39 which was faster than a few of the Automatic Qualifiers, but not fast enough.

Justin Oliver not making the field in the 400 hurts. The women have an excellent shot to win it all. The men are a long shot. Phiri has to be at 100%.
