it was a close match, but the ags pulled it out on the road. dubs played great and swept relatively easily. newport lost to #44 toni gordon who is a badass tennis player with lots of potential. the rest of the ags stepped up though, with lester, ante(9 match win streak), and keith(7 match win streak) posting strong wins. jarin lost an odd match, losing the first set close, winning the second set at 1, and then losing 6-2 in the third. the final match count should have probably been 5-2 instead of 4-3, since khaled had to default with an ankle injury after winning the first set easily. hopefully he'll be back for saturday's match against pepperdine, which should be a very good contest. not sure if i'll be able to make the match since i've got to be in san antone for Easter Sunday, so hopefully lots of Ags will turn out for the match. way to go Ags and BTHOpepperdine!

Thanks for the report.

Ante, in my opinion, has unlimited potential, and Keith, after a sluggish start, has come on strong.

Unfortunately Ryan has to "take one for the team" sometimes when we run up against an opponent with a marquis player.

yeah, but newport will only get, and already has gotten, better for it. that said, it will be even harder this week with #3 Al Garland and #11 pepperdine coming into town. however, i say the ags pull it out 4-3, or 5-2 if everyone is healthy. gig 'em ags!
