Who you got for the mens draw this year now that the Djoker is out?

I think Nadal is playing well on grass and I think he got into Roger's head big time with the spanking he gave him in the French. I also don't think RF's game has been the same since his illness earlier this year. Going with Rafa.

Grass is a much different surface. Federer actually played well at the FRench and he admitted as much. That slow surface killed him however. Woith grass being faster Nadal can't get to those shots that are almost past him. On grass they are past him.

Brad Gilbert stated early yesterday that he believes unless you are painting the lines and corners the court is actually equally as slow as Roland Garos. I was shocked he made that statement, but if you look at the courts the longer this tournament goes on the more beat up they become meaning more dirt/sand than grass.

I know the difference between grass and clay. Nadal just won a big grass tournament a couple of weeks ago so he's improved dramatically on grass. Hopefully both will get to the finals. Murray may give Rafa all he can handle today.

it was said at the first of the tournament that the grass is playing slower each year. they changed the grass a while back to rye, and it make it not as quick. This is why so many random players are excelling on the turf.

Should be a good weekend at the AELTC!!

I think it will be R-Fed that takes it. Actually waking up for this one.

I think Roger is the best of all time so it's hard to pick against him but I just think it's Nadal's year. This should be a great match.

unlike other players before him, federer has never had any competition until this year, he has waited until nadal's game came around on a surface other than clay

Fed was absent?

Sure, he made at ton of unforced errors...but he also put himself down 2 sets, fends off 2 championship points int he 4th set and almost came back to win.

Nadal deserves it.

However, Roger is probably the only tennis player in history who could have gone down 2 sets to the skills of Nadal in a CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL(pressure, anyone?), yet turn it into one of the greatest matches ever played.

I will say this...Fed prob should have won. He let Nadal escape many times when he could have really brought pressure on him.

Up 3-0 in the 2nd set, he should have won that.

I don't even really care for tennis much (unless a hot female player is involved), but yesterday's match totally sucked me in. Just awesome.

yesterday's match brough back memories of mcenroe borg connors in the hey of tennis in the 70s.

those kind of matches seemed to be more common- probably due to the lessened technology of the rackets, which resulted in longer points and more net play.

my stats may be a little off, but Federer had one maybe two break points out of fourteen or so? ~40+ unforced errors? not to mention 2 of them in the last game? he didn't play well. i dont think it was a Federer caliber performance.

Federer had moments and the occassional streaks of brilliance, but he couldnt keep it together long enough or frequently enough.

Nadal, on the otherhand, played his assoff and outlasted RF. And deserves every bit of that championship.
