Any other Aggies going to make the trip to Austin to support the team? I'll be there with two of my friends. Just wondering what kind of cheering section we're going to have with us.

I think there will be a fair number of Aggies in attendance. The 12th Man Foundation is sponsoring a bus trip from College Station to Austin for the match. As of a couple of days ago there were still seats available on the bus. Anyone interested can contact Jennifer Johnson at the 12th Man Foundation for further information. Her number is 260-7574.

come on down, we would love to have you. horns are trying to get a big crowd out so it might be standing room only by match time. it is going to be a hell of a match!!! of course, we have our hands full tonight as well!

Not really a suprise but Baylor beat Texas tonight in Waco 5-2. Texas won the doubles point but apparantly did not get it done in singles losing five of six matches.

So does this mean if we take care of baylor at home it doesn't matter how we do aganist tu we would still own a piece of the Big 12 title?

any news on whether or not we will be at full strength heading into the match, i.e newp, from, and khaled? me and my bro are heading to austin as soon as i get mom and dad dropped off for the parents' weekend festivities, so save a couple seats for some ags. it should be a great match!

I think Ryan and Khaled will be ready to go. Keith is still having problems with his hamstring, so his prognosis is a little bit day by day. I am sure he will play if it is humanly possible to do so.

chang's ancestors?

anyone notice the lack of Americans on baylor's squad? i only count two(not that that's a rarity in college tennis, but i would expect more from such a big tennis state). never heard of any of the others except for zoltan. i look forward to the baylor match even more than this week's since it will be on the home courts, but we musn't look past t.u.

i saw clinton, jenkin, and gubser play in high school, and even played against and met domanski. they are all very solid, not too mention simon and echagaray being awesome. it will be interesting how the rosters are lined up on saturday. should be 4-3 either way.

Things are looking good for Keith to be able to play on Saturday.

Strategery question: Since we lost to the sips with what I would call our "standard" line-up, do we shake things up a bit?

I'd put Keith up against that Simon kid, and put Newp at 2.

i believe a little "stacking" is the way to go, assuming the sips put up their same ladder. keith has looked better than early in the season, and a change of pace must just throw simon off. especially with newp (presumably) not at 100%, i think a #2 matchup would be good. hopefully lester, ante, and jarin will remain strong, and i KNOW khaled is ready to bounce back. a double's sweep, or at least the point, is crucial, and very possible. all we can do now is hope for good conditions and healthy players...

Gentlemen....

I anticipate another battle in austin saturday and have some thoughts. I assume and expect to see all your players one the court for this match. Injuries mean little in a match like this. Jean Simon has been having an all american season playing with injury. He has been ranked in the top 5-15 for most of the season and is a tough out at one. At two Rod Echagaray has ment the world to this team and plays with the fire of a senior. At three Jose Zarhi has the best winning percetage. We play good doubles as do the ags.

I have followed the ags this season over the internet and see that we have had similar seasons. Wins over similar teams and losses to similar teams. Duke/Duke and Pepperdine/Pepperdine. Win and Loss.

I have some closing thought that are all my own. As much as I love to beat the aggies in tennis I have never seen atm openly cheat on the court. Our matches are hard fought and calls are questioned and overrules are made at times but it isnt a system to cheat. I watched a team last wednesday night that cheats as part of its game. It is coach by a man who openly flaunts his ability to get around the rules and tells his players to cheat and act like jerks. I have long said that a team is a reflection of its coach. Well Baylor is a reflection of theirs. The NCAA has placed Baylor on probation for two years for violations and it wasnt enough. They should of been stripped of their 2000 Big 12 title as well and before anyone thinks this is sour grapes , Texas A&M would of won the title not Texas in 2000. We lost to BU wednesday night because they played better but who wouldnt play better with two guys on your team who have big time pro experience and atp points. If college tennis going to survive and flourish then guys like Matt Knoll need to be out of it.
The NCAA will be back in waco..probably sooner than later.

And by the way..reguardless of the outcome on Sat...you have to play the bears...be cautious..
