Gentlemen....
I anticipate another battle in austin saturday and have some thoughts. I assume and expect to see all your players one the court for this match. Injuries mean little in a match like this. Jean Simon has been having an all american season playing with injury. He has been ranked in the top 5-15 for most of the season and is a tough out at one. At two Rod Echagaray has ment the world to this team and plays with the fire of a senior. At three Jose Zarhi has the best winning percetage. We play good doubles as do the ags.
I have followed the ags this season over the internet and see that we have had similar seasons. Wins over similar teams and losses to similar teams. Duke/Duke and Pepperdine/Pepperdine. Win and Loss.
I have some closing thought that are all my own. As much as I love to beat the aggies in tennis I have never seen atm openly cheat on the court. Our matches are hard fought and calls are questioned and overrules are made at times but it isnt a system to cheat. I watched a team last wednesday night that cheats as part of its game. It is coach by a man who openly flaunts his ability to get around the rules and tells his players to cheat and act like jerks. I have long said that a team is a reflection of its coach. Well Baylor is a reflection of theirs. The NCAA has placed Baylor on probation for two years for violations and it wasnt enough. They should of been stripped of their 2000 Big 12 title as well and before anyone thinks this is sour grapes , Texas A&M would of won the title not Texas in 2000. We lost to BU wednesday night because they played better but who wouldnt play better with two guys on your team who have big time pro experience and atp points. If college tennis going to survive and flourish then guys like Matt Knoll need to be out of it.
The NCAA will be back in waco..probably sooner than later.
And by the way..reguardless of the outcome on Sat...you have to play the bears...be cautious..
