The soccer team went on the road again last weekend and won the "Cup of Life" tournamnet in North Carolina. The Aggies beat Florida (who was a Final 4 team last fall) 3-1, then beat Old Dominion 1-0 and Duke (another NCAA Tourney team) 2-0 to win the 4 team event.
These are some very impressive results. I have a friend who was there, and had never seen the Aggies play before. She said A&M really stunned the crowd.
She said that everyone came to watch the games expecting Florida to smoke the rest of the field, but the Aggies not only killed the Gators, but put on a show in their other 2 games too!
It's funny that the Aggies have been in the Top 10 for years, yet they still seem to "sneak up" on opponents from other regions of the country.
The Ags go up to Washington DC this weekend to play another ACC NCAA Tournament team (Maryland) on Sunday. Hopefully they'll "surprise" the Terps too.
I still have not seen the team's schedule for the fall, but I can't wait to see the games. I think the soccer team could have another great year in store for all of us!
