Bryan/College Station Soccer League Summer 2002 Season

Dear Players and Sponsors:

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the Bryan/College Station Soccer League. The BCSSL is quickly becoming the premier adult soccer league in the Brazos Valley. This spring the BCSSL replaced the now defunct Brazos Valley Soccer League and has been lucky enough to have a leadership group that includes a variety of community minded individuals including attorneys, scientists, engineers, and students. It is our intent to promote good sportsmanship and friendly competition and provide amateur adult players with the opportunity to compete in regularly scheduled matches.

The BCSSL is a "non profit" organization and all matches are insured. In addition, the League will be joining TSSAS in the fall of this year. The BCSSL offers year-round play with three sanctioned seasons. As a successful spring season begins to wind down, the League is now looking to expand its geographic area, the number of teams participating, the skill level of players, and its sponsors. Towards that end the League is happy to announce that the Summer 2002 season will see a return to three separate divisions. The divisions include:

1. 1st Division-High skill level players, both male and female, 11 players per side.
2. 2nd Division-Skill level varies, both male and female, 11 players per side.
3. 3rd Division-Skill level varies, both male and female, 6 players per side.

In addition, the League hopes to create for the Fall 2002 season the following divisions:

4. 4th Division-Beginner skill level, both male and female, 11 players per side.
5. 5th Division-Skill level varies, men over 30 and women, 6 players per side.

The registration fee for 1st and 2nd division teams is $400.00 per team. The fee for 3rd Division teams is $200.00 per team. This registration fee includes referee fees for the ten game season. Many teams obtain sponsors to help defray registration fees and uniform costs. Each player is required to wear the same color jersey as his or her teammates and each player must have his/her own numbered jersey or shirt.

Additionally, the individual player registration fee has been reduced to $25.00 per player. Players are allowed to play on one team in both the 3rd Division and/or the 1st or 2nd Divisions. The additional fee for playing on a second team is $10.00. A team may have an unlimited number of registered players, however a maximum of 18 players may participate in a 1st or 2nd Division match.

The deadline for team registration for Summer 2002 is May 17th. At this point the team registration form and a $50.00 non-refundable fee must be provided to the League. The $50.00 fee will be credited to your team registration fee. The team registration fee must be paid and players must be registered and paid by June 10th. The summer season should start around June 16th!
