She let Beam get to her on the floor routine. But, she still did an awesome job. A lot better than I could have done. I am proud.

dammit! there is no way in HELL the Chinese girls are 16 yrs old!!

I've never been a big fan of "judged" sports and the last few olympic years (summer and winter) have proven why.

All that said, it appears when one is rattled, they all follow. Unfortunate.

She is still VERY upset, even on the medal stand...as if she knows she cost the team the gold.

Meh. Her hotness outweighs her being rattled. The world knows that we are legitimate, unlike the Chicoms. Kind of like the swim teams vs. the East Germans in the 70's and 80's.

I think she should get an honorary Aggie ring for that choke job.

It was painful to watch.

But there was some excellence. Shawn Johnson's beam was amazing. It was almost as she was punishing the beam for what happened with Sacramone. And Nastia's uneven bars was extraordinary.

Even if she didn't fall twice, we would have only had 1.6 more points overall and still would have been in 2nd place.

True, but no one else started faltering until she fell. Really sucks, she has to live the rest of her life with a "what if" on her shoulders and most likely won't ever get to try to redeem herself again in the Olympics.

she did have a nearly perfect vault. and she'll get to compete in the all-around.

i HATE seeing the women's gymnastics team with anything but the gold. ticks me off.

Actually Sacramone will only compete in the vault event final, not the all around.

Wow, China has a gymnast listed as '16' yrs old and weighs only 68 lbs. My dog weighs that much. Holy...

All of China's "Women's" team is under 100 lbs. I think the highest is 86 lbs.

Even if she didn't fall, there was no way we were going to win. It seemed like on every event the Chinese got a couple of tenths higher than us, even if they had lots of issues. The judges probably knew they wouldn't make it out of the country alive if they didn't give China the gold.

Her biggest mistake was not being an eight year old ringer enslaved from birth for her country's glory.

Plus that and she has the same last name as Johnny "Sack."

True. It's the risk athletes take when they compete on such a grand stage. She will be emotionally scarred for life. Definitely a reflection of the dark side of competition.

I understand she had a long wait, like 15 minutes after they called her but before the officials would let her go. the coaches should have insisted she caome back off the runway and given more warm up time, but she had to stand there the entire time waiting.
