Watching this match tonight vs Fish, and he has 1/2 the winners (and unforced errors) as Fish. Don't get me wrong he's a great player but he's the best at using his opponent's velocity they've put on the ball and creating angles when they approach the net.

Otherwise he just hangs back around the baseline and lets the action come to him.

Maybe a counterpuncher, but not a pusher. He wins points by keeping the ball in play and running his opponent around. A pusher is someone who barely keeps the ball in play, hitting it right back to the middle each shot, just lobbing it up into the air. Nadal definitely does not do that. He hits with as much pace as anyone else in the game, and just because he does not hit as many winners and less unforced errors than other players, does not make him a pusher.

Nadal knocks the hell out of the ball. Pusher? ummm - no.

Nadal hits the ball harder than you or anyone you have ever known or ever will know will hit it. He hits a ton of winners, often from crazy angles or from way, way behind the baseline.

He runs a lot of balls down and often plays long points, but that's hustle and talent not pushing. You should watch him play a little more.

i'm on the federer side of the bandwagon, but i like nadal as well.
