there is no excuse for getting broken THREE times in the first set with the biggest serve on earth and the crowd there just begging you for a reason to get behind you and turn against djokovic. that was his chance to grab the momentum, get novak pouting, and turn it into a short match. IMO, it was over as soon as he got down 5-2 in the first.
as far as decision making, i can't think of anyone else who has been #1 in the world who is so scared, so unconfident in his strokes, and that bails out of so many big points. how many of you DIDN'T see that dropshot coming at 5 all in the breaker?? even HE knew that he was gonna miss it. if andy hits more than 3 slice backhands in a row, the point is pretty much over. granted, if he hits more than 3 backhands period, the point is over, but at least if he drives the ball he has a chance to penetrate and make something happen before it turns into a grind point.
oh well, at least i can turn my focus to fed now.
