Well, we lost today to Poland...but we backed into the next round because South Korea upset Portugal today also (Portugal gets to pack up and go home already, despite being one of the pre-tourney favorites). Here are the final first-round standings...S. Korea and USA move on:

I have played soccer all my life, and I must say....that first 5 minutes of the game was the most wheels off I have ever seen.

It only gets tougher with Mexico.

Agoos has to go. He is killing us. And somebody needs to introduce Mr. Reyna to the idea of wing-play. We had a substantial speed advantage against the Poles, but he was determined to jam it in the middle, allowing the Poles to pack it in and disrupt any offense we might have managed.

This game truly sucked, and showed why we are way down talent-wise on the world stage.

It was certainly a painful match to watch offensively...and defensively for the first 5 minutes expecially. I agree about Agoos; he's been a HUGE liability for us so far.

USA vs. Mexico on Monday...

Too bad we had to play our arch rival, would have prefered we both get a chance to advance.

Now we get to see Brazil play Germany, hohum. Well atleast they haven't met in a final before.

Jerry's take this one, maybe even the next one at home. Maybe we improve even more and we take it from them.
