It's in Spring on November 8th, and Dean Lister is doing a seminar the Friday before. A number of guys at the place I work out at are competing, but I'm still fairly new to BJJ, so i'll probably just watch. It'll be gi and no-gi, as well.

Sure, no problem.

I go to Gracie Barra in Clear Lake, and really enjoy it. Still pretty new to the sport (about 8 months of BJJ and a year of no-gi sub grappling).

You mentioned "retirement" -- do you still train? What type of training?

Over a year bjj with the gi. Right as it started to "click" for me, my wife had major spinal fusion on 3 vertabre, so I had to stop. Then, after 6 months of getting better, I contemplated taking it up again and then we found out she was pregnant.

So, not sure if I'll ever have the time.

I used to train at Houston BJJ Academy on Jones Road with Art Alvarado (got his belts from Gracie's in Brazil).

I'd planned to compete, but I'm still nursing an AC Joint injury.

Not competing until Pan JJ Chmapionships next year. I thought about going to the houston tournament in combination with a trip to see friends and family, but a schedule conflict messed that up.
