I'd love to see our ranking w/ and w/o Gerald Phiri. His absence at the end of last year ended any chance of us winning a title on the Men's side.

Dual meets, to me, are not as interesting as regular meets due to the shortage of participants and because the majority of events are not very competitive. It seems that a participant would gain more benefit if the event they were in was closely contested.

Take the A&M-tu meet today. We should win the sprints (60, 200, 400). tu should monopolize the distance races.

The only competitive event in today's dual meet featuring top ranked participants would occur if tu’s Jake Morse and the Ag’s Shadrack Songok run in the same race. If not, both should win their race.

We should easily win the 4x400. tu should easily win the Medley relay. We should easily win the long jump and the triple jump. tu should easily win the high jump and pole vault.

The 60m hurdle may be competitive.

So much for easily winning the 4x400 and tu dominating the distance races although I was surprised that we did as well as we did in the 5K, I'm assuming t.u. didn't run their best there. The 4x400 was an amazing race, fun to watch.

In the 4x400, Justin Oliver – our best 400 runner – did not participate. However, I think we still should have won without him. We only lost by 0.11 sec. Michael Preble and Joey Roberts are just freshmen and need more experience. tu had a very experience crew.

Justin won the 400m with a provisional qualifying time of 47.15.

tu did outshine us in the distance races. I thought there would be a 3000m, which they should win. Maybe there is no such race in dual meets.
800m – they finished 1,2,3,4
1 mile – they finished 1,2
5000m – we dominated and finished 1,2,3. tu finished 4,5,6

Stars:
Gerald Phiri – provisional time in 60m
Chris Dykes – provisional time in 200m
Justin Oliver – provisional time in 400m
Zuheir Sharif – automatic distance in triple jump – will be invited to NCAA finals
Julian Reid – provisional distance in triple jump
Tyron Stewart – provisional distance in triple jump
Melvin Echard – provisional distance in triple jump

A&M was regional champs in cross country. Never lost to t.u. in cross this year, I'm not sure why people are so surprised we did well in the 5K. Shadrack is the defending 5k indoor champ, and has won the last 2 outdoor 10k's>
