It looks like the guys on the team this year are no worse than a 3 or 4 handicap, and I assume they play their tourneys from the back tees. I don't know what the difficulty is of the courses they've played on though.
https://secure.assistantcoach.net/colleges/athlete_webform.asp?oid=4&sid=83That is the link for the prospective student athlete questionaire, although I hear that they have not been working for some sports on the new site, but probably worth a try anyways.
You could also just email the coach, or, if you played in HS, ask your high school coach if he can get you a try-out, or at least a response to an email, or maybe cozy up with a pro at traditions. I'm sure they have a good relationship with the coaches, and if they see you're legitimately good, you might be able to talk them into mentioning it to coach Higgins.
It's probably too late for this season, but maybe for the next. Either way, if you want to legitimately be on the team, then you probably need to take your playing more seriously, and practice as though you're already on the team. This probably includes weight training.
Did you play in HS? And if so, how did your scores compare against the kind of guys that are currently walk-ons on similar courses?
