Howdy, I was just looking over the 2002 roster and noticed that Adrienne Dillard is not listed. I hope this omission is just an oversight. Or have we lost one of our best players?

She's out.

I hear that Adrienne sat out the spring season and won't be back with the team this fall. She had knee surgery before her freshman year, then the A&M doctors went in and repaired the same knee last winter (following her sophomore year). The girl I spoke to said that A didn't want to risk another injury and has quit the team for medical reasons.

Heather Williams played in Dillard's old spot throughout the spring season. She's a forward that Coach G converted into a defender for the to try and find her a place on the field (since she wasn't going to play in front of Ragsdale, Smith, and Johnson up front).

Everyone says she had a great spring and is the front runner to win that position in the middle of the Aggie defense. So, if we've lost Dillard that stinks, but it looks like a worthy replacement was created last spring.

Remember, this team didn't have 6 of their starters in 2000 and still made it to the Big 12 Championship game and into the NCAA Sweet 16. Everything I've heard from some girls and guys close to the team sounds like the team is going to be very good this year - even without Dillard.

Good luck to Adrienne. It sounds like she made the right decision, but that has to be hard. It's good to know the Ags have enough deptht to counter injuries or other problems.

tonie, thank you for the information. I sure hate that Adrienne Dillard can't come back. She was one of our most talented players. She really played great in last year's Big 12 Tourny game against the Longhorns. You know, by my count, we have lost 12 of our players since last year. That is half of the roster. I know we have a terrific recruiting class coming in, but to lose 12 of 24 is a pretty big hit... I have been going to the games since Kristen Koop and Kimery Duda played and I have faith in Coach G. We always seem to be successful no matter what the adverse situation. Even the year of the knee! So let's find a GK and go play some Soccer! See you all at the games!
