Heck of a start for the Ags, Codie & Christine in B final of the 500 with great swims! Both less that half second off the school record.

Talk about a close race, 1 second separating 9th and 16th...in a 500

Yeah no kidding. It was funny how there was such a clear separation between 1-8 and 9-16, but within each final there's a lot of bunching.

I guess it's a little better mentally to know that you were 2 seconds out of the A final than knowing you were .2 seconds out.

Anyone have any info on...
1. The 50 free...who made it back. The results I see only show 13-last place.
2. What happened to the 400 free relay, did someone lose their goggles? I saw a split of 58.something on there.

mike - that was the 400 medley, so the 58 was Alia's breast split. They were a tad slower, but Sarah swam free instead of Christine so that is expected

and Triin is 4th in the 50. you hafta scroll down the list, the top 12 got put in the middle for some reason. Maria, Sarah, and Marissa all added just a little bit

I think it is interesting that Kathleen Hersey is the only tu swimmer that clearly swam well today.

Most of the tu girls raced in the Austin Grand Prix less than two weeks ago. I was a bit surprised to see that. So tu's 500 girls were all off, including Leah Gingrich.

Codie and Christine on the other hand swam VERY well. Nice job.

I hope the girls and Triin swim well tonight.

I'm just waiting for all three of them to explode tonight. Triin has a very good chance of winning the 50 free. Wouldn't it be cool to see Codie and Christine go 1-2 in the consols?? Nice to see that Alia made it into he 200 IM as well.

9th...judges screwed her on her 4th dive IMO...she missed finals by less than 2 pts

The A&M pool has twice been found to be the wrong length (too short) in major competition. Embarrassing as hell. I'm sure the lasers were out regularly for the NCAAs.

The girls aren't looking very good today. Christine is in the B-final for the 200Fr, Triin didn't make any final in the fly.

Alia did well in the 1Br, seeded 6th going into finals.

I was really surprised about Triin's 100 fly. Her 50 fly split in the 200 medley relay was terrific.

An ex Arizons swimmer friend told me earlier their girls got DQ'd on the 200 IM relay. What happened? It would seem unlikely for them to repeat without the relay points.

Their backstroker false started. Most likely gonna cost them the overall title

Don't see many false starts by backstrokers. That hurts, big time.

I was thinking the same thing about t.u.'s suits. Those are terrible. Hersey wasn't wearing one though.

Yes I understand. What I don't understand is how that's the only thing you could think of to add to the conversation. If you want to bring everybody down about the A&M swimming program at every opportunity, find another place. It's so old..

Aggie swims today

Casey HZ in the mile. In between sessions, so there won't be many people there. Try to get out and cheer for her if you can! I have a feeling they won't be checking tickets.

Have a couple swimming the 200Back. Emily hasn't swam it tapered yet, and is seeded 23rd. She should definitely move up into at least the B final.

5 swimming in the 100Fr. Let's hope Triin can bounce back from yesterday; she's seeded 2nd.

Alia is seeded 4th in the 200br. She swam well yesterday in the 100br, expect the same today.

Rita is seeded 31st in the 200Fly, but is ab out .7 away from the top 16. Don't know if she tapered for Big 12's, but if not, she could definitely make a move up.

400 Fr. Relay is seeded 7th. Our freestylers have had mixed success so far, so we'll have to see how the relay does.

Jeez boys. The rec center isn't the swim team. I was poking fun at a problem that is really embarrassing for TAMU.

It is great that a bunch of records have been set. It makes us all look good to see "College Station" next to a bunch of American and NCAA records.

And look under whatever the last completed final is, they have up to date scores.

As of now, we're 25 points behind. It's still POSSIBLE for us to catch them, but it's not going to happen. They'll beat us in the relay, and they've got too many coming back. Plus they've got 2 divers who have a chance at scoring in the platform, and we won't have any.

It will be close between us and Florida (they have several girls that threaten to win events today) but I think we should be able to hold them off if our 400 free relay shows up to swim.

Either way, we're looking at no worse than 8th place. Pretty damn good given the injuries we've had this season.
