I'll consider this to be a very successful season if the men make the round of sixteen. This is a team that's one player short of being a top ten contender. If the French player had made the roster, I think we might have had a shot. With the home court advantage I'll be disappointed if we don't get to the sweet 16. I think Denton and McKinley have turned the program around and have laid the foundation to become a consistent top ten program.

Sweet 16 is definitely a successful season. Cass only made it to the elite 8 once, right?

I think Sweet 16 is successful. It would be an improvement over last year and shows us that we are on the right track. If we are playing on top of our game don't see any reason why we can't go further.

sweet 16 is successful, but I dont see any reason this team cant make a run at the elite 8 or even final four. We have seen this year that the men (even without Wil) are capable of beating big teams. Should be interesting to watch

I think this entire season the doubles point has been crucial, and it seems like it's been real close each time we've lost it.

For many programs getting to the final site for the round of 16 is the benchmark for a successful season. If you lose in the first round you are never worse than tied for 9th in the tournament.

For other programs the quarters and semi's define a very high level of achievement. Most programs don't have the stuff to reach the elite level annually. Others do and have.

Playing on the final day however.....there is nothing like it.

We lost two players who could have helped us this year. The two are the French fish who was forced to redshirt and Chirico who was kicked off the team. We have been competitive at the top three but very inconsistent in the bottom three. Add these two players along with A&M hosting the NCAA and things were in place to make a run at the NCAA Championship.

No doubt Chris and Klegu would have really given us a lift. Nearly everyone in the country has to deal with these issues, and other than losing Wil for a few matches we have been relatively injury free, and by and large have avoided bad slumps, especially as the year has worn on. I think getting to the sweet 16 (if we can make it) coupled with three players in the main draw is a big step forward for this team. I think it sets the stage very nicely for next year.

The way I look at it, it would be successful, but I wouldn't be satisfied. With the guys we have at the top, we oughta be able to win 2 out of the top 3 lines against just about anyone in the country. And if doubles was only played to 4 or 5 points, I don't think our 3 doubles would've lost yet this year. This should leave us in a position where just one of our 4-6 guys needs to have a mismatch, and we win. With us being so close to this kinda scenario in every match, I won't personally be satisfied short of top 8. Plus, top 8 is when you really start to get looked at as an elite program (recruits, please?)

That being said, I think getting to top 16 is a huge accomplishment and a big step in the right direction. I feel like the guys aren't going to be satisfied with a top 16 either.

Assuming things play out as seeding goes, we'd have to beat a 24-2 SEC champ Ole Miss to advance to the quarters. Anything can happen but that would be a huge, huge upset.

There is no doubt that Ole Miss would be a huge undertaking. Our guys have shown that they will not back down to anybody and with the scenerio mentioned in the earlier post, we have a chance anythime we go out. That and playing at home would make for a great match. I hope we get to see it come to fruition.

The Rebels will not lose to Texas A&M. In fact they are my favorite to win it all. That team is loaded.

They might have the best 4-6 in the tournament. Play good doubles .
