Just a reminder that the Aggies host the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament. Arizona and TAMUCC play at 1:30 Friday and the Aggies play at 4:00. Interesting side note is that the Wildcats are coached by former A&M assistant Tad Berkowitz and TAMUCC is coached by former A&M assistant Steve Moore. The winners will play Saturday to determine who moves to the Sweet 16 later this month in College Station. Also, the ags got three in the main draw of the NCAA singles championship (Conor, Austin and Wil). You history guys are going to have to tell me when the last time that happened, but I can't remember having three during my time as a fan. Also obviously Conor and Wil are in the main doubles draw.

I believe AA said it's never happened before. Too bad they can't flip flop those matches for the sake of the t.u. game, but I'm sure it's NCAA policy.

Texas A&M is a slam dunk to reach the final site. There is no question that the College Station regional round of 64 and 32 is the easiest path to the round of 16.

If you don't believe me take a close look at the seeding match-ups. With that said, stranger things have happened in college tennis but it would take a total collapse for the Aggies to not advance. And that is very unlikely.

No need to be cocky. It would probably take the same kind of collapse that it takes to lose to Rice, no?

Correct. Home team has to be the 2nd match.
Ags do get a favorable draw but I would say AZ = Rice.

I wouldn't call any match against a Pac 10 team a gimme. We need to bring our A game if we want to be in the sweet 16.

I am not an Aggie. I just am evaluating the regional. Arizona does not have the fire power that Rice has at the top of its line-up.

ATM will win the doubles and pick up two of three wins at the top three spots. Only need one from the rest. Check the record of UA. They are not as good a team that you would expect vs a lower seeded #1.

This regional is a cake walk for the home team. Actually I haven't seen a more sure thing in numerous years.

the last time the regional draw was so easy for a lower seeded team was when the ags hosted last time... they played USF in the 2nd round (a team ranked in the 40s that lost in semis of conference USA tourny)

Cory, I don't really have a problem with the final site host getting a bit of a gimme. Its good overall for business. Last thing anyone wants is for the host team not to be in the field at the round of 16.

I remember going to Georgia for the final site , I think it was 2ooo. Not sure, however the bulldogs were not very good and didn't make it back home to compete. The tournament was a total dud. No emotion, or interest by the locals. Worst time ever at the event.

With that said, there was never any doubt ATM would be there. They have a good team. Especially at the top of the lineup.

If we dont make a little run, the final will have no one there, again, like in 05 for UCLA's win over Baylor
